What makes you decide that it is now time to do your laundry? Or do you even bother?

I have to resort to wearing what I am embarassed to wear out in public, out into public.

If I am getting ready in the morning, and my shelves are empty. I know it’s time to do laundry. Tomorro. :)

Well usually when my laundry begins to move around on its own and hides under the bed, I’ll send an expedition in and capture it. For the most parts the hunts are sucessful and I have clean clothes but sometimes the clothing escapes into the wild and is seldom seen again.

Being a slouch that I am, I tend to dress down, so the nicer I dress, probably the fewer clean clothes I have. When I’m doing laundry, I look great!

Well, I keep a laundry basket by my bed so that I can throw my clothes into when I take them off at night. Unfortunately, it is usually full either because I haven’t done laundry in a while or because I have and the folded clean clothes are still in it. Sometimes, the basket isn’t there because the cat has decided to use it as a fortress to protect herself from the dog. In those situations I just throw my laundry in the floor somewhere near where the laundry basket should be.
So, I know it’s time to do laundry when I find myself climbing over a mountain of clothes to get into bed at night.
Either that or when I am forced to wear holiday themed boxer shorts out of season.

We usually do laundry when the clean clothes have finally been emptied from the laundry baskets that crowd our bedroom floor. The clean clothes are emptied in a regular fashion that goes something like this: I wake up, take a shower, and dig through the laundry baskets until I find what I want to wear. If we took the time to fold the clean laundry, then this usually disrupts the clean folds, but often, we don’t even fold the clean clothes, so we wear wrinkled clothes, but I hear that’s the popular style these days. I can walk into an Abercrombie & Fitch store and all the clothes come pre-wrinkled. Whatever happened to wrinkle-resistant clothes? Must not be fashionable anymore.

When the kids are starting to wear around t-shirts with no shorts or worse yet, running around naked in just diapers (or wearing clothes a little too small or large), it’s time to do the laundry.

I do laundry daily. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t have that many clothes or if I’m just a clean freak. Occassionally the laundry will back up and when that happens Elijah has to wear his PJ’s and underwear that doesn’t fit so that’s when I know it’s time to catch up. LOL
