Dr.’s Check Up February 16, 2007
Posted by Liz in : Baby, General , trackbackWell last week we had our first Dr.’s appointment and got to meet Dr. Jennifer Wagner. She is really a nice and personable Dr. and we are really glad that Jamie recommended her to us.
First Visit: 21.5 inches 9 pounds 6 ounces
Today Sean and I went back to visit Dr. Wagner and all went really well. Sean had gained the weight they wanted him to plus some putting him in the 90 percent tile for his age. Of course I do think the little guy did cheat a little, as he waited to poop till just after they weighed him. But yes, he’s one big baby… playing hockey with his cousin Andruw could very well be in his future.
We were given the thumbs up and told we don’t have to come back till his one month check-up.
Second Visit: 21.5 inches 9 pounds 14 ounces

I LOVE all the new pictures! He’s so precious! Can I borrow him?? lol
YES! Every new mom feels totally off-schedule… for a long, long time. I just gaveup anything remotely resembling routine for about a year. Then a new one sorta grew out of the ether. And then that one changed. And the next. You get the point. Children change so fast, almost literally right in front of your eyes, that everything is in a constant state of adjustment. Flex everything anytime you can, and set that expectation for others too, and all will be well in your world!
Congrats on the natural birth. I went natural too, but my labor was only 10 hours. Have my doubts if I could have stuck it out another 12! You’re a brave, remarkably strong woman!!!
Giving birth naturally was the most priceless, remarkable gift I could ever have given myself. It changed me in every possible way. It’s confidence and pride and worthiness in one big WILD infusion. There really is no stopping me now!
Anytime anything ever gets you down or starts to make you doubt yourself, just think of what you proved you were capable of. Not to mention your amazingly high pain threshold! Works every time for me.
The nine months of every three hours feeding, pumping, etc. Now that’s something I don’t think I want to do again. Least not for 9 months. Whew! But I lost that pesky 10 lbs., and more, that I’d never been able to lose since putting it on in college back in the eighties. So that too had some unexpected bennies.
Congratualtions!
