Nine More Weeks! (Should I be scared or excited… how about both!) December 1, 2006

Hard to believe “Thumpers” due date is only 9 weeks away. It seems so close and yet far away now, and my head is panicing wondering what all is left to do and if I have enough time to get it done. Just where did that “to do list” go anyways? I guess finding that list is on my new “to do list” now… oh well.

The pregnancy is going well. I try not to complain too much as I seem to be having a better time at it then a good many of pregnant mom’s I have heard talking. There are a few times in the day when I am so focused on work that I even forget that I am pregnant surprisingly… but when I do well the baby (whom I lovingly refer to as “Thumper”. Yes that lovable little rabbit from “Bambi” that pounds away on the ground with its hind leg.) keeps reminding me that it is there by kicking my right ribs… always in the same place too! Really though I have little to complain about other then the sore right ribs, getting tired so early in the day, and the restless leg syndrome that robs me of a good bit of sleep at night.

I will admit though I picked up a book from Boarders that has made me laugh. A book that I pick up when I am secretly thinking to myself that I am ready for Thumper to come on out. What is the name of this book you ask? Well, it’s called: “Pregnancy Sucks (What to Do When Your Miracle Makes You Miserable)” I know, I know, what a great name for a book you say! Truly it is a good book that will make you smile and give you ideas on how to make it through and past those uncomfortable moments, feelings, and depression. For those that are pregnant or thinking about it you really should buy this book; you’ll be glad you did! I have to say that my favorite advise in there so far is on how to handle restless leg syndrome. “A heating pad kept on your legs will help, but a husband always close by to massage those legs is always better. Now if the husband isn’t proving helpful, kick him; he’ll never know it wasn’t the restlessness that caused that kick!” =D

Well I have posted photos in the gallery of us working on the baby’s room for those that are curious and want a peek in there. I’ll post more photos of the finished room once we are done refinishing the dresser and get it back in the room. Keeping my fingers crossed I do hope that project will be finished this Sunday. Ahhh Sundays, the day where Ben becomes my slave… errr I mean the day he puts on his “handy man hat”. It seems to be the only day where our schedules seem to work together where we both can work on the bigger projects together.

I suppose that is all I have to share for now… at least that is all my tired eyes are going to stay awake to let me type. Good night everyone and huggles to you all. =D

We Are Having a Baby! September 17, 2006

That is right folks we are having a baby; well that is what they tell us anyways, truly the poor thing looks like an alien in the ultra sound… but still you can’t help but love it anyways. To see it move around and to hear the heart beat was something I don’t think I could ever put into words. =D So yes, the purpose for this post is to announce that Ben and I will be having a baby! The due date that they have given us is Feb. 2, 2007 and you’ll have to wait and see what it shall be just like we are. Yes we are nuts and want it to be a surprise, but we figured it makes it more fun and exciting this way.

While we wait we are franticly trying to figure out what all we have to do… as we lost out on three of the preparing months (and the photo studio’s busiest time of year, sept – dec, is about to hit)... how did we manage that you ask? Well, because I had been very sick so often and on in the months of March – June we missed the early symptoms of the pregnancy and it didn’t dawn on us till mid July when my body was finally back to normal that well we should take an at home test. July 28th the test confirmed those thoughts so we made the first doctor’s appointment for Aug 14th. Then yesterday, Aug 15th after the ultra sound that we had to have to figure out how far along we were because in the original exam we appeared further along then the 7 weeks that we had guessed going in… we were told we were at 15 weeks and 4 days… it was quite a shock to us all!

Anyways, I share with you the baby’s first “photo shoot” and hope that life it treating all of you wonderfully!

huggles and kisses to you all,
Liz
